Becoming a Master in Computer Science
When I’ve arrived in Porto Alegre, it was a completely strange local for me. The only person that I’ve meet so far was my academic advisor. For that, it was hard in the beginning, but I think that it was a great experience to re-create a new life in a place far away from home.
The M.Sc. program was somewhat short, only 2 years, but it was really intense. In the first year, I applied myself to adapt and take efforts on my studies, and in the second year I steered myself into innovation environments. In my M.Sc. project, I’ve worked with intelligent agents applied to unmanned aerial vehicles, with studies in distributed artificial intelligence. As a final result, I’ve wrote and published some papers, as well as a book. Image 1: The book about my dissertation. Image 2: The model of the UAVAS platform, developed in my M.Sc.

Innovation and Startups
Besides the steering to innovation was really nice for my career, it wasn’t initially intentional. I’ve arrived in UFRGS as a CNPq scholarship, and so, unable to take jobs in parallel to my studies. This was a problem for my finances as living in a great city with only the program’s assistance was somewhat unaffordable. So, in the end of 2011, I’ve started to work as freelance in projects for a startup named Bulb, inside Centro de Empreendimentos do Instituto de Informática (CEI-INF). Returning to São Paulo
This phase of my life ended with Bulb company owning an acceleration of Wayra, a initiative of Telefonica company for innovations. The investment made the startup company office to move to São Paulo, where I’ve moved together after just finishing my M.Sc. post-graduation.
Time to return to São Paulo state!
