[2005 – 2010] B.Sc. Degree and Career Start

Arriving in Presidente Prudente

The B.Sc. course in Unesp was divided in 5 years. As there were too many new things to work about in my adaptations, I decided to use the first year to consolidate myself as well as applying 100% of my efforts in my studies.

My First Job

In April/2006, I’ve started to work in the technical department of Anglo School as computer programmer, 3D model design, and animations. I’ve entered in the company via CIEE (Enterprise-School Integration Center) and my initial tasks were programming and developing Learning Objects (LO). Initially, I’ve entered as a trainee, and later become a oficial employee, working on commercial hours while studying my Computer Science course at night. Making classrooms and working in parallel is a somewhat hard-to-do life, but its is full of learnings as it is possible to apply what you learn in university into your work. Image 1A 3D equation plotter, made with C# and WPF/WCF technology. A LO is an application that is used as a tool by teachers to simulate experiments in the course of a classroom. Some of them are used as mere presentations with animated slides, and others are sophisticated simulations of psychics, chemistry, and mathematics. The set of technologies in touch were Macromedia Action Script, Visual Studio, Blender, Studio Max 3D, Solid Works, microelectronics, C/C# and Java. Learning Other Culture in Japan

I decided to use the university vacation period of Dec/2007 to Mar/2008 to make a travel to Japan. During these months I’ve been working in a factory of lights, and in the weekends I’ve been traveling and knowing japanese culture. There was many new things for me, such as temples, mountain snow, local dishes, and oriental philosophy. Image 5A japanese castle from NagoyaImage 6A picture of me with Fuji Mt.

Parallel Works, Improvements, and Entrepreneurship

July/2007 was a key moment for me in the context of entrepreneurship. After finishing two technical courses in SENAC (hardware and Linux), I’ve started to get really involved with some internal initiatives in my university. There was two of them: Núcleo de Educação Corporativa (NEC) and Empresa Júnior da Computação (EJCOMP). In NEC, I was a consultant developer working in projects for brazilian Ministery of Education, within the context of Learning Objects for Education. Images 7 and Image 8Two learning objects that I’ve helped to develop.

For EJCOMP, I’ve traveled with a group of colleagues to Bauru for the VIII Encontro das Empresas Juniores da UNESP (ENEJUNESP), where we registered our Jr. Company and created the first board of directors (later, in 2017, I have meet the enterprise members, really happy by seeing it much more mature). Also, within the university, I had the opportunity to present two mi-courses in the events of Semana da Computação 2007 and 2008 about Macromedia Flash technologies. Image 9The flyer of the VIII ENEJUNESP eventImage 10First slide of my lecture about Macromedia Flash, in SECCOMP 2007.

Time to Move

The year of 2010 came in a blink of eyes and I’ve just graduated as B.Sc. in Computer Sciences. After graduating, I was in face of a decision. I had three options: I’ve received a proposal to go to São Paulo to work for a company in the area of mobile development; I’ve been approved in the M.Sc. program of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS); and I’ve been asked to continue in Anglo College, as a VIP in a project related to chatbot. The three options were really good, but I’ve chose to go for the Master Science program in UFRGS, as that option seemed to not be available again so easily for me. Time to move to Porto Alegre, tchê!
